The Task Queue displays tasks assigned to the data steward by the data steward as well as unassigned tasks. Stewards can navigate to the task queue by navigating to the Stewardship tab via the left-hand sidebar.
From here, stewards have the option to complete several different actions, including filtering tasks by entity type and various other conditions, bulk assigning tasks to certain MDM Cloud users, or look deeper into tasks that may require further action.
Looking at the top of the task list view, stewards and stewardship admins can see a couple of statistics about the total task list such as how many open tasks there are in total and how many tasks were closed this week. These statistics are static and cannot be configured.
Task Filters
When initially navigating to the task list view, stewards will always be shown the “My Tasks” list view by default, which shows all the tasks assigned to the logged in user. The other default filter is the “Unassigned tasks” list view. Neither of these filters can be deleted.
How do I create, edit, and delete task filters?
Stewards can create multiple different task filters by configuring the filter in the left hand column of the screen. From this column, stewards can use various task metadata such as entity type, status, and priority to configure a task filter and click the save icon at the top of the filters column to save that filter for future use.
After clicking “Save”, users can edit the filter’s name and optionally set it as their user's default task filter.
To edit or delete the filters, stewards can start by clicking the three lines in the “My filters” line. From there, they have the option to view all filters, edit a filter, delete a filter, or set a filter as default.
Task Queue
Within the task queue, stewards can see several pieces of task metadata that can help them make stewardship decisions. These include the task’s status, priority, category, match score, and much more. Stewards can view up to 20 tasks at once.
Users can access tasks by clicking on the relevant task’s category, indicated by the purple hyperlink.
Task Order
Tasks are sorted by default by Priority and Creation Date. Stewards can choose which task metadata fields to sort the task queue by clicking on the task metadata column name they want to sort by.
Bulk Assign
On the Task Queue page, stewards can also click Bulk Assign to assign multiple tasks to various MDM Cloud users.
Bulk assign users can do so in various ways - via the selected tasks before bulk assign is clicked, from the existing filters, or from a custom filter created from within the bulk assign user interface.
When selecting assignment method, users can select whether to bulk assign to a single user or distribute multiple tasks equally to several users.
When finished, click Assign.
