Potential Match - Same Source
If multiple source records from the same source are posted over time with similar demographic data values that do NOT automatically match and link together via Verato’s matching algorithm, Universal Identity marks them as a data stewardship task that users may be interested in reviewing.
A data stewardship task in the category of Potential Match – Same Source may contain identities records from several sources, but it will contain at least two different different Link ID) with source records from the same source.
Potential Match - Cross Source
If multiple source records from different sources are posted over time with similar demographic data values that do NOT automatically match and link together via Verato’s matching algorithm, Universal Identity marks them as data stewardship tasks that users may be interested in reviewing.
A data stewardship task in the category of Potential Match – Cross Source only occurs when the posted source record is a near match to other identities that do NOT contain any source records from the same source as the posted source record.
Applied Overlay
If a source record is updated in a way where it is NOT rejected as a definite overlay, but is instead detected as a potential overlay due to a suspicious data update, Universal Identity marks the source record as a data stewardship task that users may be interested in reviewing. This type of data
stewardship task is a category of Applied Overlay.
Rejected Overlay
The changes to the source record are rejected, and a new Rejected Overlay task is created in the data stewardship task queue.

Match - Same Source
A task will be created when the configuration indicates that records should link, but a task is also desired.
Prevented Match - Same Source
Verato Universal Identity will prevent same-source records from linking, and a task will be created for a data steward to take action on if needed.
